Reset a password or unblock a user

Reset a password

The quickest route is for the user to click Forgot password on your client site, which emails them a reset link.

To set a password for them:

  1. Go to Clients → Users and open the user with the pencil icon.
  2. Under Password, click Generate (or type a new password), then the eye icon to reveal it.
  3. Click Save and pass the password on securely.

Leaving the password field untouched keeps the existing password.

Unblock a locked account

Ten failed sign in attempts lock an account. In the user list the Failed logins column shows the count, orange from one attempt and red with a lock icon once locked.

  1. Find the user. If they are not in the default list, switch the status dropdown to All users.
  2. Open the user. A red Failed logins panel appears with the note “Locked after 10 failed attempts”.
  3. Click Unblock. The counter resets to zero immediately and the user can try again. No other save is needed.

A successful sign in also resets the counter, so a user who eventually gets in unlocks themselves.
