Publishing agreements
A publishing agreement connects an original publisher organisation to an agent organisation and defines what the agent may do with the shared catalogue. Find them under Subpublish → Agreements.
Who can do what
Every admin can view agreements. Cadenzabox creates, edits and deletes them on the original publisher’s behalf. If you need an agreement, contact [email protected] with the agent’s organisation name and the labels to include.
Reading the list
Two tabs:
- Incoming lists agreements where you are the agent. Columns: Original publisher, Labels, Active, Created.
- Outgoing lists agreements where you are the original publisher. Columns: Agent, Labels, Active, Created.
Both tabs also show inactive agreements. Inactive agreements are hidden from Incoming releases and Outgoing releases and stop generating work for new releases.
Agreement settings
Agreements are set up by Cadenzabox. These are the settings to decide on when you ask for one, and what each does once the agreement is live.

| Active | Switches the agreement on. New agreements start switched off, so nothing appears in Incoming or Outgoing until you turn this on. |
| Auto-deliver | New releases created on a covered label are delivered to the agent straight away instead of waiting in Unsent. Does not apply to releases that already exist. |
| Tag mapping | Runs the agent’s active tag mapping rules when a release is accepted. Reveals Unmapped tags. |
| Unmapped tags | What to do with tags that have no mapping rule: Keep them as they are, Hide them from the agent, or Discard them. |
| Agent | The receiving organisation. Cannot be changed after the agreement is created. |
| Labels | The original publisher’s labels to share. Adding a label creates an Unsent entry for every existing release on it. Removing a label does not remove releases that have already been sent or accepted. |
| Codes | Recording codes the agent may write back onto the original recordings through a CSV reimport: ISRC, ISWC, EAN, UPC, and PRO work identifiers (ASCAP, BMI, GEMA, SESAC, PRS Tunecode). |
| Metadata | Text the agent may override in its own copy through a CSV reimport: track title, version title, description and teaser; album title and description. |
| Publishers | Read only list of publisher share overrides that apply in the agent’s context. These are added through the API by the agent organisation. |
Delete is permanent
Deleting an agreement (on request to Cadenzabox) removes every album and track the agent received under it, including the agent’s own tags and groups, and takes the shared labels out of the agent’s site. Ask for Active to be switched off if you only need to pause.
What the agent can change without an agreement setting
Regardless of Codes and Metadata, the agent can always edit tags, groups and the published switch on its copies in Albums and Tracks. Everything else on those forms is locked for subpublished content.
