Roles and permissions
Every account belongs to an organisation and has a role. The role decides whether the person can use the admin, and what they can see and do in it.
| Role | Who | What it allows |
|---|---|---|
| User | Your clients | Signs in to your client site only. Cannot open the admin. |
| Admin | Your team | Everything in the admin. A few tools, such as Tag mapping, are not yet switched on for customer accounts. |
Roles are set per user in the Role field; see Users. Other roles may appear in the dropdown for future use, but only the two above are in effect today.
Admins act for their organisation only
An admin sees and edits their own organisation’s catalogue, users and settings. Changes that span organisations, such as publishing agreements, are made by Cadenzabox on request.
What a user can see on your site
For your clients, access is not about roles but about groups and access types: which parts of the catalogue they can browse, and whether they can download, license or reach stems. See Groups and access types and Access settings.
API access
Integrations authenticate with an API key issued for a user and inheriting that user’s role. See API access.
