Fix import errors

When an import finishes COMPLETE WITH ERRORS, INVALID or FAILED, open the errors from Ingest → Metadata by clicking the state badge or View errors.

The panel is titled Errors for: your file name. A red notice at the top reports a fatal problem with the whole file, if there was one. Below it, one card per release lists each error with the row number in your CSV, the release code and, where relevant, the track number.

Common causes

Message points atCheck
A mandatory columnLIBRARY: Name, ALBUM: Code, ALBUM: Title, ALBUM: Release Date, TRACK: Title, TRACK: Description, TRACK: Number, TRACK: Is Main, TRACK: Audio Filename and the first writer and publisher columns must have values
A dateALBUM: Release Date must be YYYY-MM-DD
Track numbersMains need whole numbers, unique within the album; versions need TRACK: Is Main = N, a TRACK: Main Track Number pointing at their main, and a TRACK: Version
SharesPercentages without the % symbol
Column headersExact spelling and a single space after the final colon, for example WRITER:2: First Name

Fix and reimport

  1. Correct the rows in your CSV. Keep the release and track codes the same so the reimport updates rather than duplicates.
  2. Upload the file again from Ingest → Metadata. Releases that imported the first time are updated; the failed ones are created.

Releases with No file or Failed audio are not import errors; they are asset problems. See Deliver audio and artwork.
